Declaration of Independence | In 1776, Thomas Jefferson, an excellent writer, to draft the declaration, listing the colonists complaints against the British. People can change the government if the government is not treating the people right. |

Battle of Trenton | GW retreated to the West side of the Delaware River, planned a surprise attack on the December 26th. It was a turning point in the Revolutionary War, encouraged troops to re-enlist. |
Battle of Princeton | In January 1777, GW surprised British troops led by General Cornwallis by leaving some troops in Trenton. Colonists won this battle. |
Battle of Monmouth | In June 1778, battle ended in a draw. |
