4th step in a bill becoming a law | Senate and House members reach compromise on a single form of the bill. |
5th step in a bill becoming a law | President signs or vetoes the bill. |
6th step in a bill becoming a law (or not becoming a law) | If the bill is vetoed, it goes back to both houses, but must pass by a 2/3 majority in order to become law. If not, it is considered dead. |
