aorta artery that carries blood directly from the heart to the rest of the body
atrium (left & right) upper chamber of the heart that receives and holds blood that is about to enter the ventricle
bicuspid (mitral) valve valve between left atrium and left ventricle
Ventricle a chamber of the heart that receives blood from an atrium and pumps it to the arteries
septum Divides the right and left chambers of the heart
inferior vena cava receives blood from lower limbs and abdominal organs and empties into the posterior part of the right atrium of the heart
superior vena cava receives blood from the head and arms and chest and empties into the right atrium of the heart
semilunar valve a valve stopping blood from flowing back into the ventricles from the arteries
tricuspid valve located between the right atrium and the right ventricle. closes when the right ventricle contracts, allowing blood flow into the lungs and prevent backflow into the right atrium
