homeostasis keeping a stable environment in the body; keeping the body in balance
tendon connective tissue that joins muscles to bones
steroids hormones that make muscles bigger and stronger but can do damage to the body when not used correctly
melanin chemical in skin that determines skin color
hair follicle where hair grows; where new cells are added to make hair
epidermis it is the thinner, top layer of skin, made of epithelial tissue, contains keratin (a protein that makes skin tough)

skeletal muscle type of muscle attached to bones for movement: voluntary (picking up a pencil) and involuntary (blinking), often works in pairs, can get tired
