No you don't have to prep with Kaplan however you should still prep. What are some other benefits of high test scores? You can qualify for scholarships and other financial aid saving you thousands of dollars in the future. Can a high test score set you apart from other students? Certainly as long as the rest of your application is good as well Is it necessary to stress over getting an extremely high score on the SAT? No because as much as it would be great to have a high score there is no need to pressure yourself to get something higher than your capable of. However reasonable goals are also important to your success.
