| Messiah | Messiah means the same as Christ. That is, the one whom God chose as Israel's special king. |
| Samaritans | People who lived in the area of israel called Samaria. The Samaritans came from Jews who married non-Jews. |
| Jew | A person who is from the family of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. |
| Idol | Anything people worship instead of God. They could be any object or statue made of wood, stone or metal that people worshiped. |
| Worship | Showing honor, love and praise. People are meant to do this for God. It is wrong to this for anyone or anything other than God. |
| Samaria | A region in Palestine located between Galilee on the north and Judah/Judea on the south, and between the Jordan River on the east and the Plain of Sharon on the west. |
| Israel | The Jewish people, or the land of the Jewish people. |
| Judea | The land promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is known as Israel. |
| Galilee | the place in Israel where Jesus grew up |
| Jacob's Well | This is the well where Jesus met the Samaritan woman and told her he was the Messiah. |
| Jewish | Anyone who is from the family line of Abraham. |
| Eternal life | To live with God forever and ever, to never die. |
| Sin | When people do not do what God wants; wrong thing that we do or say |
| Sychar | A small village in Samaria, about half a mile from Jacob's well. It was here that Jesus spoke with the Samaritan woman. |
