Step 3: How to print

Print the PDF. Fold each page down the middle along the dotted vertical line and cut the solid horizontal lines.

If your printer has a special "duplex" option, you can use it to automatically print double-sided. However for most printers, you need to:

Print the "odd-numbered" pages first
Feed the printed pages back into the printer
Print the "even-numbered" pages

If your printer prints pages face up, you may need to tell your printer to reverse the order when printing the even-numbered pages.

1. Cross Hatching: When two sets of crossing parallel lines are used to shade prints and drawings.

2. Diptych: a painting, esp. an altarpiece, on two hinged wooden panels that may be closed like a book.

3. Dry point: A type of intglio printmaking in which a sharp metal needle is used to carve lines and a design into a (usually) copper plate. The act of drawing pushes up a burr of metal fillings, and so, when the plate is inked, ink will be retained by the burr to create a soft and deep tone that will be unique to each print. The burr can only last for a few printings. Both the print and the process are called drypoint.

4. Engraving: A graphic-arts process in which a design is incised in reverse no a copper plate; this is coated with printer's ink, which remains in the incised lines when the plate is wiped off. Damp paper is placed on the plate, and both are put into a press; the paper soaks up the ink and produces a print of the original. Also, a print made by this process.

5. Etching: 1. A print made by coating a copper plate with an acid-resistant resin and drawing through this ground, exposing the metal with a sharp instrument called a stylus. The plate is bathed in acid, which eats into the lines; it is then heated to remove the resin and finally inked and printed on paper. 2. The technique itself is also called etching. Like engraving, etching is an incising graphic-arts process. However, the design is drawn in reverse with a needle on a plate thinly coated with wax or resin. The plate is placed in a bath of nitric acid, with etches the lines to receive ink. The coating is then removed, and the prints are made as in engraving. Also, a print made by this process.
