Phenotype

External physical characteristics of an organism determined by genes and the environment

Genotype

All the gens found in an organism which determine their phenotype

Meiosis

Cell division that provides the opportunity to introduce genetic variation by gamete formation 1. Crossing over 2. Random fusion of gametes 3. Random independent assortment

Mutations

Spontaneous change in a gene or chromosome, perhaps as a result of mutagen

Allele

The form of a gene, could be, alternative form of a gene

Gene

Section of DNA that codes information for making an amino acid - which codes for a protein

Inter specific Variation

Species that differ from another species

Intra specific Variation

Members of the same species that differ from each other
