Special Economic Zones
Deng made many good contributions to the well being of China. His greatest were in the economic growth and stability. In 1979 he created Special Economic Zones which achieved just that. They were set up along China's coast, most-likely for trading, in the cities of Macao, Hong Kong, and Tawain. This, along with better transportation networks, lower taxes, and other incentives, attracted more wealthy foreign investors. Dengs economy really strived. It grew faster than any in the world growing at a rate of 13% each year. Deng became the big reason of China's growth as an economic power.
Chinese Style Socialism
Deng was known for his power as an economic authority. One of his greatest accomplishments was the mixing of free enterprise and socialism which allowed rapid growth in China's economy. The blend of the two was coined "Chines Style Socialism." It was successful in highering the living standard of the Chinese peasants. Peasants were now able to afford luxuries such as, radios and it raised the living standards of over 170-million people. This later lead into China's hierarch in the society. Upper, Middle, Lower.

Four Cardinal Principals
These were Dengs key things in having a good society. (1) Maintain maoism, lenism, and marxist views, (2) dictatorship of the proletariat, (3) communist party should be the leader, and (4) socialistic views must be maintained.
The four things that Deng thought needed to be modernized. They were Industry, Electricity, Agriculture, and Defense.
The idea of giving large farms to people so that they can grow their own crops. Incentives were made so that people would work hard.
