Magma rises and fills the gap as the plates move apart. These boundary's are usually in the ocean although there are some on land. Volcanoes and earthquakes can both be made on this type of boundary. (E.g. Iceland, Mid Atlantic Ridge)
Plates move sideways, no land is gained or lost. Earthquakes can be made.
Destructive Ocean vs Ocean
Plate move together under the ocean, one is subducted under the other. Earthquakes, volcanoes, ocean trenches and chains of island arcs can be made.
Destructive Ocean vs Continent
Plates move together as the heavy ocean subducts under the lighter continental plate. Earthquakes, volcanoes and fold mountains can be made.
Destructive Continent vs Continent
Plates move together and there is no subduction. Fold mountains are made, no volcanoes are made however there are earthquakes. (E.g. Sichuan (China))
