Definitions

Ecological Island An area that only one version of a species is. A place that one species rarely if ever comes into contact with another population of their specie.
Ecotourism When people travel to a place because of a desire to view nature. Yellowstone.
Environmental Risk Takes into account many factors such as the amount of predators a specie has in an area and competition with other species and help decide if an animal is endangered.
Genetic Risk When a species genetically changes and this change puts the species at risk of becoming endangered.
Population Risk Random change in growth rates. If less of the specie is being born, such a change could put the species at risk of becoming endangered or extinct.
Logistic Carrying Capacity Point on a logistic curve in which births equal deaths and the population stays at a constant number
Maximum Sustainable Yield The maximum amount of usuable resource that a population can produce.
Minimum Viable Populatiopn Size The minimum population that a species can have and still have hopes of recovering.
Optimum Sustainable Yield The largest amount that can be produced and used that over time will not deplete the resource.
