How many SENATORs are there? 100
How many come from each state? 2

How is the number of Representatives chosen? 1) the number is fixed 2) each state has its share by population
What are the rules for numbers of Representatives? each state has to have at least 1 (one) but no more than 50 (fifty)
How old do Representativies have to be? 25
How many years does a Representative have to be a citizen? 7 years
Who is incharge of the House of Representatives? The Speaker of the House
How is a vacancy in the House filled? it is filled by a special election
What are duties of the House of Representatives? 1) All revenue bills start in the House 2) The house has sole power to IMPEACH ANY FEDERAL OFFICER 3) The House will select a President if one does not get the majority of the votes
Where does the Legislative Branch meet? in the Capitol Building
What is the ELASTIC CLAUSE? congress can make laws for what ever comes up in the future
What is a WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS? a prisoner need to be brought to court in a speedy manor
What is EX POST FACTO LAW? a person has to be told why they are in jail
What is a BILL OF ATTAINDER? Congress can not find a person guilty of a crime without a trial
What is a QUORUM? the majority of its members
Who can DECLARE WAR? only Congress can declare WAR
