#### Definitions

Acceleration The rate of change in velocity
Change in Velocity Occurs when the speed of an object changes, or its direction of motion changes,or both. Final velocity minus initial velocity
Deceleration Acceleration that is opposite to the direction of motion
Velocity-time Graph This graph provides information about the object's velocity and acceleration
Constant acceleration Velocity changing at a constant rate
Average acceleration Average rate at which an object changes its velocity; shown by the slope of a velocity time graph
Gravity Attractive force between two or more masses; causes objects to be pulled towards the centre of Earth
Air Resistance A friction-like force the opposes the motion of objects that move through the air
Acceleration due to gravity The value of acceleration due to gravity near the surface of the earth is -9.8m/s2
