Exeunt Exit. Two or more specified characters leave the stage.
Aside A short speech heard by the audience but not by the other characters of the play.
Comedy A drama or narrative with a happy ending or nontragic theme.
Drama A literary composition that tells a story, usually of human conflict, by means of dialogue and action.
Antagonist A person who opposes or competes with another.
Prologue An introduction to a poem, play, or story.
Comic Relief The use of a comic scene (humor) to interrupt a succession of intensely tragic, dramatic moments.
Master Objective The primary goal the main character hopes to achieve.
Dynamic Character A character that is capable of change.
Monologue A long speech by one speaker.
Static Character A character in a play that is unchanging.
Protagonist The main character in a drama, novel, or story around whom the action centers.
Soliloquy When an actor is alone on stage and speaks his innermost thoughts
Epilogue A closing section added to a novel or play.
Tragedy A type of drama where the characters experience a reversal of fortune, usually for the worse. The audience feels sad because the main character fails to reach his goal.
