Most soldiers involved in attacking Iraw were from what two countries/ U.S. and Britain
What was the first main reason for the War in Iraq? Belief that Iraq had or was developing "weapons of mass destruction" (WMD)-nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons
What was the second reason for the War in Iraq? Belief that Iraq posed a threat to world peace because of its support of terrorist activities(no evidence of Iraq's direct involvement in 9/11/2001, but they have supported other terrorist activities
Who was captured in December? What happened to him? Saddam Hussein, placed on trial for cruelties he had done while dictator, hanged in December
It was right to to go war because..? (1) Hussein needed to be removed form power, was a cruel dictator who killed thousands of his own peopl (20,000-300,000) (2) The world and Iraq are better because Hussein no longer controls that nation (3) A Democratic govt. is being established in Iraq (voters choose own officials)
We thought Saddam Hussein had WMD, but.. Although we didn't find any, perhaps he destroyed evidence of these. Even if Hussein was not developing WMD, he might have done so in the future
It was a mistake to go to war because...? (1) We were wrong-Hussein didn't have WMD, we shouldn't have attacked that nation unless we were positive he had WMD (2) Though Hussein was a cruel dictator, more are in the world and the U.S. can't be the world's policeman and eliminate all of them (3) war was too expensive in lives and money
Iraq is NOT a better place because of the war.. (1) People are frequently being killed by terrorist attacks. (2) It is a very unsafe place. (3) The country is in turmoil and chaos.
