Rectum Final segment of the digestive system; passes feces out of the body throught the anus.
Red Blood cell Hemoglobin-containing cell in humans that transports oxygen and some carbon dioxice; loses it nuclei as it enters the bloodstream, resulting in a limited life span.
Small intestine Narrow, muscular tube in which digestion is completed; connects stomach to large intestine.
Stomach Pouch-like, muscular digestive organ that secretes acids and enzymes, food leaves the stomach in a thin, acidic liquid.
Trachea The windpipe, lined with constantly beating cilia that prevent foreign particles from reaching the lungs.
Ureter Tube that transports urine from each kidney to the urinary bladder.
Urethra Tube through which urine is eliminated from the body.
Urinary Bladder Smooth muscle bag in which urine is stored untill it leaves the body through the urethra.
