Lateral geniculate nucleus visual, projects via optic radiations to occipital cortex - lateral for light
Medial geniculate nucleus auditory, Medial for Music
Ventral posterior nucleus, lateral part (VPL) body sensation, proprioception, pressure, pain, touch, dorsal column tracts and spinothalamic tract
Ventral posterior nucleus, medial part (VML) facial sensation (via CN V), taste, put makeup on face and it goes through vpM

Blood supply Posterior communicating, posterior cerebral, ICA
Thalamic syndrome vascular lesion with damage to VPL and VPM, contralateral sensory loss, decreased proprioception --> falls, no motor defects
