### Polygon

a closed plane figure with straight sides
Examples: rectangles, squares, triangles, etc.

### Regular polygon

a polygon in which the sides are all the same length (equilateral) and are symmetrically placed around a common center (equiangular)
Examples: equilateral triangle, squares

### Polyhedron

a three-dimensional figure whose surfaces are polygons

### Prism

a polyhedron with two congruent and parallel faces (the bases) and whose lateral faces are parallelograms

### Right prism

a prism whose lateral faces are rectangles

### Pyramid

a polyhedron with a polygon base and triangular sides that meet at a single point, or the apex

### Cylinder

A solid bounded by two congruent and parallel circular bases, one directly above the other

### Face

a flat surface on a three-dimensional shape

### Edge

the line formed by 2 faces

### Vertex

the point where two or more edges meet

### A net of a solid

A figure which can be folded to form the surface of a solid
