Sagittal (Anteroposterior or AP)

Divides the body into right and left halves
AOR: Frontal
Description of AOR: Runs medial/lateral
Common Movements: Flexion, extension

Fontal (coronal or lateral)

Divides the body into anterior and posterior halves
AOR: Sagittal
Description of AOR: Runs anterior/posterior
Common Movements: Abduction, adduction

Transverse (axial, horizontal)

Divides the body into superior and inferior halves
AOR: Vertical
Description of AOR: Runs superior/inferior
Common Movements: internal/external rotation

Axial

Cephalic (head), Cervical (neck), Trunk

Appendicular

upper and lower limbs
