What happened in 1588? Significance? Spanish Armada attacked an Enlglish Fleet. English fleet out maneuvered the Spanish with help of a storm; change of power- spanish decline. English on the way to become world power
Who was Martin Frobisher? Sir Humphrey Gilbert? English seaman that made 3 voyages to New world.
Who was Sir Walter Raleigh? What happened to his attempt to establish a colony at Roanoke Island? Established a colony on Roanoke Island and it disappeared; received a 6 year grant from Queen Elizabeth. He was Pioneer of English Colonization.
How would changes in England be important for future colonization? Capital accumlated
-puritans prosecuted.- Elizabeth died and her cousin James I takes over.
-Enclosure movement- estate owners driving out all small farmers.
