God created man in his own image. Man was Created for te glory of God, and to worship in all that he did. Man was created without sin
Adam acting as a representitive for mankind, disobeyed the command of the Lord and ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
As a result of thw fall,. mankind is legally "guilty" before God, and deserving of the wrath of God. (eternity in Hell)
As a result of the fall, mankind will continue to diobey the commands of the Lord. Mankind is "dead" in sin and is unable t choose God or godiness. (good deeds in fallen men are a result of Gods common grace)
God chose a people for himself to recieve salvation from the sin before the creation of the world. They are elected to be called unto God, and will always respond to that call.
A binding agreement between 2 parties. God initiates unbreakable covenants with his people, and the promises of theese covenints are certain
a legal declaration of " not guilty". Believers in christ are justified by their faith their sins were paid for on the cross and they have assurance of salvation. The opposites of condennation.
Covers the sins of the guilty. In the Old Testament, a lamb was sacrificed once a year for the sins of the people. Christ, the Lamb of God, the atonement for sin on the cross by shedding his blood for the guilt of the world. Believers in Christ have had their sins "covered".
Our God is one God, in three perons. God takes the form of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Sprit. These are not three gods, but three forms of our one great God. All three persons of the Trinity act on our behalf in the process of salvation.
Believing in something or some idea even if you cannot see, touch, or prove it.
To buy back, purchase out of slavery, take possession of something from its previous owner.
God takes out all of His furious wrath, His just anger at sin, and releases all of the punishment for it, for eternity past and future, onto His Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross.
The Great Exchange, as Martin Luther called it. God took our sins, put them on Jesus, and punished Him. God took Jesus' righteousness, credits it to us, and counts us rghteous. John MacArthur said, "On the cross God treated Jesus as if He had lived your life, so that God could treat you like you had lived His."
The claiming of God's chosen people by God Himself as children of God. Believers in Christ are adopted, given an inheritance in the Father's kingdom and blessing, and treated as God's own children.
Believers in Christ are "born again". This does not mean a new life where nothing goes wrong. It does mean that our old self, and all of our sin, was crucified, nailed to the cross with Christ, and is alive no more. A regenerated heart will yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit, which leads to the believer growing more holy. Without evidence of regeneration, assurance of salvation is weak.
After regeneration occurs, the Holy Spirit will ork in the heart of the beliver to conform it to the image of Chist. This is a process, and will not be completed while the believer is alive on earth. The Holy Sprit will continue to work for our holiness as we learn to walk in the Spirit according to Scripure. This is the opposite of pollution.
