behaviour it is relatively strong, intense, and persistant and is aimed toward acheiving a particular goal
the two perennial questions are what causes behaviour? and why does behaviour vary in its intensity?
brain activity activation of brain structures such as the amygdala (fear) or the prefrontal cortex (setting goals)

electrodermal (threat) activity electrical changes on the surface of the skin (expression of or stimulus significance)
skeletal activity activity of the musculature, as with facial expressions (emotion) and bodily gestues (desire to leave)
self-report is information provided by a person, such as through a survey or interview
