Orbicularis Occuli Acts as a sphincter to close the eyelids, as in blinking. Distributes the tear. Circular muscle.
Zygomaticus Major Pulls the corner of the mouth upward and outward, as in smiling. Attaches to the zygomatic bone.
Orbicularis Oris Moves lips when closing, puckering or protruding them. Keeps food in the mouth
Buccinator Forms the cheek wall. Sucking. Pulls in cheek when whistling and blowing. Buccle=cheek.
sternocleidomastoid muscle SCM. aDduct; rotation; flexion
External Oblique Rotates the trunk towards the OPPOSITE direction and aBducts the trunk toward the same side. Right external oblique rotation= rotate left. Think putting hands into pockets.
Internal Oblique Rotates the trunk towards the SAME direction and aBducts the trunk towards the same side. Right internal oblique rotation=rotate right. Think opposite direction as hands in pocket.
Transversus abdominis Compresses the abdomen and pelvic regions. Think muscles going in a transverse plane or HORIZONTALY!
Rectus Abdominis Flexes the vertical column and trunk. Think VERTICALLY.

Posterior Side Extension
