"As Joshua had commanded the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the Lord went forward, blowing the trumpets, with the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord following them...On the seventh day they rose early, at dawn, and marched around the city seven times." On the seventh day, after seven times around, the people shouted, as Joshua commanded them to do, and the walls came 'tumbling down.' " Rehab, the prostitute, and her family were the only ones saved from the city. Joshua commanded the people to plunder the city and to kill the inhabitants, as well as the animals. Silver and gold, iron and bronze were taken into the treasury of the Lord. Joshua pronounces this oath, "Cursed before the Lord be anyone who tries to build this city-this Jericho!"
