The fourth week's set of fifteen vocab words for Mrs. Donovan's AP Lang class. These are as close as possible to the definitions she gave in class, with leading indefinite articles elided and some internal inconsistencies fixed.

v: to remedy or make amends for

reactionary

adj: characterized by reaction, especially opposition to progress or liberalism; extremely conservative

sally

n: a sudden, rushing attack or a clever comeback

presage

v: to forecast or predict

opprobrious

adj: extremely critical; disgraceful

invidious

adj: causing envy or resentment; offensively harmful

trite

adj: lacking in freshness or effectiveness because of constant repetition

sardonic

adj: bitterly or scornfully mocking; cynical
