estuary (n) the wide part of a river where it goes into the sea

squat (v) to sit on your heels with your knees bent up close to your body
illusion (n) something that seems to be different from the way it really is
blade (n) the flat cutting part of a tool or weapon
incandescence (n) the light emitted by a hot or incandescent object
triumphant (adj) showing pleasure and pride because of a victory or success
smash (v) to break into pieces violently or noisily, or to make something do this by dropping, throwing, or hitting it
shrilly (adv) a shrill sound is high-pitched and unpleasant
rigid (adj) stiff and not moving or bending
clinging (adj) holding someone or something tightly, especially because you do not feel safe
recede (v) to become or seem to become fainter or more distant
