| Worcester v. Georgia | Supreme Court case which declared Georgia's actions towards the Cherokee unconsitutional. Jackson responded saying "John Marshall has made his decision, now let him enforce it." |
| Indian Removal Act | 1830 act by Congress which gave the federal government power to help accelerate the land-exchange process and make tribes move west of Miss. River |
| Trail of Tears | Cherokee's long journey west.4,000-5,000 Cherokee died along the way due to exposure and illness. |
| Panic of 1837 | Economic depression sparked by the destruction of Second Bank of US and drop in cotton prices. State banks lent money to speculators without limit and printed paper money without regulation. |
