oxidation | A chemical change in which a substance reacts with oxygen, as when iron rusts. |
combustion | A rapid reaction between oxygen and fuel that results in fire. |
tarnishing | The slow reaction of a bright metal with sulfur and substances in the air, producing a dark coating on the metal. |
malleability | The ability of a material to deform under pressure and stay deformed. |
conductivity | The ability of a substance to conduct heat or electricity. |
