### Fractions

A fraction is a symbol, such as 2/5, 1/5, 8/5, used to name a part of a whole, part of a set, a location on a number line, or a division of a whole number.

### Denominator

The number below the fraction bar in a fraction; The total number of equal parts.

### Numerator

The number above the fraction bar in a fraction.

### Equivalent Fractions

Fractions that name the same region, part of a set, or part of a segment.

### Area Model

The number of square units needed to cover the region.

### Hexagon

A polygon with six sides

### Trapezoid

A quadrilateral with only one pair of parallel sides

### Rhombus

A quadrilateral in which opposite sides are parallel and all sides are the same length.

### Triangle

A polygon with 3 sides

### Linear Model

Relating to a line.

### Set Model

A collection of items between brackets {OOOOO}.

### Subsets

The relationship of one set to another. Example: A is a subset of B and conversely B is a superset of A
