Nucleus Contains DNA and is the cell's control center. Center can make ribosomes.
Endoplasmic Reticulum Location of synthesis of lipids and proteins. System of folded sacs and pleats. Smooth if Ribosomes are not attached.
Golgi Apparatus Sorts and packages proteins into vesicles to be transported. A stack of flattened, interconnected membranes.
Plasma Membrane Used for support, protection, and controls what comes in and out of cells. Made of Phospholipids and proteins.
Cell Wall Used for protection, support, and holds cell's internal pressure. Found only in plant cells.
Chloroplast Converts sun's energy into energy. Has a double membrane and has stacked thylakoids. Found only in plant cells.
Mitochondria Breaks down glucose to release energy. Has an outer membrane and inner membrane.
Lysosome Breaks down waste and debris. Full of digestive enzymes.
Vacuole Sacs of lipid membranes that holds food and water. Found mostly in plant cells.
Ribosome Used to synthesis proteins. Found floating around or attached to the endoplasmic reticulum. Made or RNA and protein.
