one of the most politically connected families of Rome. Both brothers used their upper-class status to help the poor population. They allowed the hard working plebian community to be heard. The assassination of the Gracchus brothers, Tiberius and Gaius, is considered the first major step towards the fall of the Roman Republic.

Gaius Marius A talented military leader who was elected into consul started accepting anyone into the army and eliminated property restrictions
Lucius Cornelius Sulla a general in the social war, and later became consul. After his victory in the civil war, he became dictator, and killed anyone who opposed him or who he thought were a danger to the state. He later voluntarily retired
Julius Caesar He was a Jewish teacher and prophet and founded Christianity by teaching about kindness and love of God. His teachings spread throughout the Roman Empire and the rest of the world.

Augustus the name given to Octavian meaning "the revered one". It was given to him as a religious honor of creating a government that was based around the well-being of the people. He encouraged literature and ensured that Rome was properly protected with police forces and fire brigades
Pax Romana A period of peace in Rome lasting from 27BC- 180AD. Strong legal system, stale goverment, widespread trade and peace. Laws were passed to help them keep order, there was not much war and invasion, and goverment maintained order
