List the 8 parts of speech noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, adverb, conjuction, preposition, and interjection.
Noun a word that names a person, place, thing, idea, or animal
Pronoun a word that replaces a noun
Verb a word that shows action or a state of being
adjective a word that describes a noun or pronoun and answers the questions (What Kind?, Which One?, How Many?, How Much?)
adverb Modifies a verb, adjective, or another adverb. Answers ?'s (How?, When?, Where?, How Often?, and To What Extent?)
preposition word used to show the relationship of a noun or pronoun to some other word in the sentence.
conjunction a word that joins two phrases or sentences
interjection a word or phrase in a sentence expressing emotion; a word that has no grammatical relationship to other words in a sentence
