England paid John Cabot (Italian) to find the North American route. Ended up off the coast of Canada.
Vasco de Gama (Portugal) made it around Africa to India.
Ferdinand Magellan (Portugal) made it to Asia by going around South America. Journey was too long and hard. Circumnavigated around Africa and Philipines back to Portugal.
King Francis of France sent Giovanni De Verrozano (Italy) to find a route to the orient.
March of 1524
Verrozano saw land near the Cape Fear River in North Carolina. He sailed North. Passed the outer banks.
