Dispersion | The pattern of spacing of a population within an area. The 3 main types are uniformed, clumped, and random. |
Limiting factors | An environmental factor that tends to limit population size. |
Density independent factors | Any factor that is not dependent on popultion density. Usually this factor is abiotic such as a rock. |
Density dependent factors | Any factor that is dependent on population density. This factor is usually biotic. |
Population growth rate | How fast a given population grows. |
Natality | Birth rate |
Mortality | Death rate |
Emigration | People leave any specific area. |
Immigration | People moving into any specific area. |
Exponential growth | A constant rat of growth. |
Logistic growth | Populations can not grow exponentially forever. |
Carrying capacity | The amount of organisms that one place can hold. |
