HIPAA Privacy Rule
Regulations for protecting individually identifiable information about a patient's health and payment for health care that is created or recieved by a health care provider. Medical practices must have written Notice of Privacy Practices, required to display in a prominent place in the office and must in good-faith effort to obtain a patient's written acknowledgment of having recieved and read the notice in the form of a signed Acknowledgment of Reciept of Notice of Privacy Practice.
