Quadratic Formula -b±[√b²-4ac]/2a
Slope (y₂-y₁)/(x₂-x₁) = m
Slope-Intercept y=mx+b
a²-b²(a-b)(a+b)
a²-2ab+b² (a-b)²
a²+2ab+b² (a+b)²
(a+b)(c+d) ac+ad+bc+bd
a(b+c) ab+ac
sine ratio opposite ÷ hypotenuse
cosine ratio adjacent ÷ hypotenuse
tangent ratio opposite ÷ adjacent
Function f(x) is a set of ordered pairs (x,y) where NO two of the ordered pairs have the same x value
Direct Variation y=kx
Inverse Variation y=k/x
Slope intercept form y=mx+b
Point-Slope form y-y₁=m(x-x₁)
Standard form Ax + By=C, where A, B, and C are not decimals or fractions, where A and B are not both zero, and where A is not a negative
Undefined (slope) When there is a vertical line that has different y points, but the same x point
Zero (slope) When there is a horizontal line that has different x points, but the same y point
If you multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number Reverse the direction of the inequality sign - flip the inequlity sign!
Graphing < or > on a coordinate plane dotted line
Graphing ≥ or ≤ on a coordinate plane solid line
Graphing ≥ or > on a coordinate plane shade upwards or to the right
Graphing ≤ or < on a coordinate plane shade downwards or to the left
Substitution method Putting numbers in place of variables in an equation.
Absolute value equation A V-shaped graph that points upward or downward
Translation A shift of a graph horizontally, vertically, or both, which results in a graph of the same shape and size, but in a different position.
Area of a circle Πr²
Area of a square s², where s = length of a side
Area of a triangle ½(base x height) [or (base x height)÷2]
Area of a trapezoid ½(b₁ +b₂) x h [or (b₁ +b₂) x h÷2]
Perimeter of a rectangle 2Length + 2width [or (length + width) x 2]
Perimeter of a square 4s (where s = length of a side)
Area of rectangle, square, parallelogram A = lw or (length x width)
Circumference (perimeter) of a circle C = ∏d OR C = 2∏r
Circle Is the set of points which are all the same distance (its radius) from a certian point( the center).
Radius (Radii) A segment connecting the center of a circle to any point on the circle (= r)
Diameter The distance across the circle through the center of the circle. The diameter is twice the radius.
Tangent a LINE that touches the circle at EXACTLY ONE POINT
Central Angle An angle whose vertex is the center of the circle
Percentage Formula Y% of X = Y/100 x X
ex: What % of 120 is 10 or 10 = Y/100 x 120
VOLUME of PRISM (cube etc.) V = lwh or (length x width x height)
VOLUME of CYLINDER V = ∏r²h
Perimeter Distance around any object
Pythagorean Theorem c² = a² + b² where c is the hypotenuse of the triangle and a and b are 2 sides of the triangle
Equilateral Triangle 3 sides have the same length
Isosceles Triangle 2 sides have the same length
Complete arc of a circle 360 degrees
Degrees of a straight line 180 degrees
Ratio comparison between 2 quantities such 1/4 or 1:4
Proportion equation with TWO RATIOS
1/4 = x/8 or 1:4 = x:8
Mean Average of a list of numbers or values (divide the sum by the number of values)
Median middle value (number) of a list
Mode the value (number) that appears most often
Scientific Notation Example: 320 = 3.2 x 10²
Decimal point placed after the first digit followed by 10 to a power
Absolute Value the number value such as |-4| = 4 = |4|
