| independent variable | (statistics) a variable whose values are independent of changes in the values of other variables |
| Scale | pattern, make, regulate, set, measure, or estimate according to some rate or standard |
| Y axis | The vertical line on the bottom of a Quadrant 1 graph |
| X axis | The horizontal line on the bottom of a Quadrant 1 graph |
| Relationship | connection between data in one table with data in another table or the same table |
| continuous data | Numerical data values that can be MEASURED |
| equations | A mathematical sentence with an equals sign |
| rule | A mathematical sentence for an algorythym |
| discrete data | When the number of possible values is either a finite number or a "countable" number. (That is, the number of possible values is 0 or 1 or 2 and so on.) |
| coordinate pairs | A pair of numbers in the form of (x,y) that gives the location of a point in the coordinate plane. The x term gives the distance gives the distance left or right from the origing (0,0) abd tge y term gives the distance up or down fro m the origin. |
