| Fjord | A narrow inlet or arm of the sea bordered by steep cliffs, esp. in Norway. |
| Peak | The pointed top of a mountain or hill |
| Peninsula | A body of land nearly surrounded by water |
| Plain | A large area of flat or nearly flat land |
| Plateau | A broad, flat area of land higher than the surrounding land. |
| Prairie | a large area of grassland |
| Reef | A ridge of sand, rock, or coral that lies at or near the surface of a sea |
| River Mouth | The place where a river empties into another body of water |
| Sea level | The level of the sea's surface used to measure the elevation of other locations |
| Strait | A narrow waterway or channel connecting two larger bodies of water |
| Tributary | A river or stream that flows into a larger river or stream |
| Valley | An area of low land between hills or mountains |
