Archipelago a chain or group of islands
Bay a body of water partly enclosed by land (smaller than a gulf)
Canyon a deep valley with steep sides often with a river or stream
Cape a piece of land jutting out into the sea (smaller than a penninsula)
Canal an artificial waterway for navigation or irrigation
Basin a hollow depression in the earth's surface, completely or partially surrounded by land
Delta a low triangular area of soil deposits where a river divides before entering a larger body of water
Glacier an extended mass of iceformed by snow falling and accumulating. moves VERY slowly
Ithmus A narrow strip of land borderd by water that connects two larger bodies of land.
Plain a level or flat, usually treeless, area of land
Plateau a level surfaced land area, raised above adjoining land
Penninsula an area of land that is almost completely surrounded by water except for a small part connecting it to the main land
Tributary a stream that flows to a larger stream or body of water
Strait a narrow passage of water connecting two large bodies of water
Confluence the junction or meeting place of two or more rivers or streams as they flow together
