Pisa Cathedral

Baptistery of Pisa
1152. Circular building with dome and oculus (like Pantheon).
Nicolas Pisano, Pisa Baptistry Pulpit
1260. Designed to impress. Uses human figure of Hercules to express an abstract idea. Pisano doesn't draw from just one source, but shows he appreciates the classics. Also material from Bible: Adoration of the Kings relief (3 Kings from East, making a claim Christianity is a universal religion)
