Comptroller
In Maryland government, the elected official who manages state revenues (money) and enforces the collection of state taxes.
Authority
The right to control or direct the actions of other; legitimized by law, morality, custom, or consent.
Cabinet
The group of people who head the executive departments in the federal government and advise the President. In state government they advise the Governor.
Commander-in-Chief
The title given to the President as head of the armed forces (the military).
Attorney-General
The chief law enforcement officer of government, who may also act as an advisor to governement officials about legal matters.
Executive Orders
A rule issued by the President that has the force of law but does not require Congressional approval.
