State of the Union Address
| The yearly report by the President to Congress in which the nation's condition is described and programs are recommended. This report is required by the U.S. Constitution. |
Vice-President
| The executive officer ranking immediately below the President, who may serve in the President's place under certain circumstances. This person also serves as the presiding officer of the U.S. Senate. |
Treaty
| A formal agreement between the governments of two or more countries. The President can negotiate these agreements, but the U.S. Senate must ratify (approve) them. |
