| Variables | Letters that represent an unknown or changing number. |
| Independent Variable | The variable that you start with and put on the horizontal axis (X-Value) First Column |
| Dependent Variable | The variable that you calculate and put on the vertical axis (Y-Value) Second Column |
| X-Intercept | The point at which the graph crosses the x-axis (where y=0) |
| Y-Intercept | The point where the graph crosses the y-axis (where x=0). This is usually the starting point. |
