Description

Wedding of the Goddess is a documentary produced by the Center for South Asian Studies at the university of Wisconsin-Madison on the Chitterai Festivalin Madurai, south India.

The film provides historical background on the annual festival, shows the re-enctment of the marriage of the god Sundareshwara and the goddesss Minaksi, and provides a picture of the proceedings of the 19-day festival.
