sedimentary	rock formed when layers of minerals and rock particles harden into solid rock
erosion	condition in which the earth's surface is worn away by the action of water and wind
deposition	process in which sediment is laid down in new locations
mineral	Valuable substance that is taken from rocks by mining and has a crystal structure
luster	The way a mineral reflects light
streak	a marking of a different color or texture from the background
rock cycle	sequence of events in which rocks are formed, destroyed, altered, and reformed by geological processes
fault	break in earth's crust along which movement occurs
