Lincoln's Reconstruction Plan A plan which was centered around a quick reconstruction of the South. 10% of voters will have to take an oath of allegiance and freedmen only get freedom and nothing else.

13th admendment abolished slavery
14th admendment Guaranteed citizenship to former slaves and protected the rights of all citizens. Equal protection under the law.
15th admendment Declared that states may not deny the vote to any citizen based on "race, color, or previous condition of servitude. Gave african americans the right to vote.
Civil Rights Bill of 1866Gave blacks citizenship, and struck at black codes, vetoed by johnson(but he sucked and was overturned), later made into 14th ammendment, it gave civil rights, but not voting, reduced the representation of a state in congress and in Electoral college if it denied suffrage, and disdqualified former confederates from holding office, repudiated confederate debt
Radical RepublicansRepublican faction that controlled a HUGE portion of Congress big enough to overturn Johnson's veto. They demanded immediate emancipation of the slaves at the war's beginning; after the war, they favored racial equality, voting rights, and land distribution for the former slaves. Lincoln and Johnson opposed their ideas as too extreme.
Freedman's Bureau First Federal Social Welfare Program that provided food, clothing, jobs, medical care, schools for former slaves and the poor whites
Reconstruction Act It divided the South into 5 military districts, each commanded by a union general and policed by Union soldiers. It also required that states wishing to be re-admitted into the Union had to ratify the 14th Amendment, and that states' constitutions had to allow former adult male slaves to vote.
Military Reconstruction Act of 1867 imposed martial law on the south; also called for new state constitutional conventions and forced the states to allow blacks to vote for convention delegates. Also required each state to ratify the 14th amendment.
Tenure of Office Act required the president to secure consent of the Senate before removing appointees once they had been approved. Johnson gives them a hearty "F U" and fires Stanton anyway so congress tries to impeach him.
sharecropping system in which landowners leased a few acres of land to farmworkers in return for a portion of their crops
