series circuit

A circuit in which resistors are attached end to end, sequentially.

series circuit

The total current from the battery has a single path and must pass through every resistor.

parallel circuit

A circuit with multiple branches, in which resistors are placed singly on each branch of the circuit.

parallel circuit

Each resistor completes the circuit independently of the others.

resistance

Property that measures how difficult it is for current to flow.

current

The rate at which electrical charge flows.

power

The rate at which electrical energy is used in a circuit.

conventional current

The convenient, fictional assumption that it is positive charges that flow through circuits, rather than electrons.
