origin the point of intersection of coordinate axes.
where the values of the coordinates are all zero
translation (slide) A translation moves the figure in a straight line, changing its location, but not its position. Also called a slide.
reflection (flip) A transformation that produces the mirror image of a figure.
rotation (90° turn) (mathematics) a transformation in which the coordinate axes are rotated by a fixed angle about the origin
pie (circle) graph A graph that uses sectors of a circle to compare parts to the whole and parts to other parts.
mean average
median The middle number in a set of numbers that are listed in order
mode the most often number in a set of numbers
range the difference between the highest and lowest scores in a distribution
outlier a value much greater or much less than the others in a data set
stem and leaf plot A method of graphing a collection of numbers by placing the "stem" digits (or initial digits) in one column and the "leaf" digits (or remaining digits) out to the right.
line plot a graph that shows the frequency of data along a number line
square root a number that when multiplied by itself equals a given number
perfect square A square of a whole number.
input output table one way to describe a function. It lists the inputs and outputs.

Hypotenuse the side of a right triangle opposite the right angle
accute angle an angle that is less than 90 degrees
obtuse angle an angle that measures more than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees
right angle an angle that measures 90 degrees
