focus question | questions that guide a person's research. These small questions often become subtopics in a brochure, report, or research paper. |
gist statement | gist statement-main ideas, or summary, or a text. (20-25 words) |
research | to conduct an investigation about a certain topic and report your findings either in writing or speaking |
source | this is where a researcher gets his or her information for research |
annotation | one entry in a bibliography |
citing sources | when a researcher looks for information and then reports that information in a brochure, research paper or other way, that researcher must give credit to the people, books, websites, interviews or any other media used in obtaining that information. |
