In Japanese, some colours are adjectives while some are nouns. There are two types of adjectives in Japanese. When describing (noun) colours with nouns, you must put the particle [no] between them (as they are both nouns): Kiiro no booshi - Yellow Hat Haiiro no kuruma - Grey Car Shiroi, Kuroi, Aoi (see more)
